This implementation is not through emulation mode to GBPVR it is in the native mvpmc file system. It does still work but I'd strongly recommend 0.86 of vlc, since 0.9.x has many problems with the telnet interface.

I realize I would not be using gbpvr and thats ok with me. The problem I have is I cannot get it working. I have read through all the WIKI and postings and I just cannot seem to get the proper config file created. I am not at home now so cannot post my config file but the only things I would need are as follows in the config:

1) a cifs share named videos on the server 172.16.2.209 username is jeff and password is jeff
2) the vlc implementation line (vlc server is also 172.16.2.209)
3) The best version of vlc you mention .86 there are versions A all the way to I does it make a difference which?
4) The best version of your dongle, I think i am using a nightly build from a week or 2 ago
5) The line to start up the theme that has the large fonts on a blue background ( I think is the third on the list)
6) Lastly is this the right command to run on the server for VLC
vlc.exe -I ntservice --ntservice-install --ntservice-extraintf=http,Telnet --ntservice-option=--http-host=172.16.2.209:8081

Also do you know if vlc will do Rm files in this configuration assuming i have real alternative loaded on the server end?

I know this is a lot to go through but I have spent hours trying this on my own with absolutely no success at all.

Thanks for all your help

Sorry, I don't support the vlc interface anymore from Windows, I wrote it but it's not worth the aggrevation given how well GBPVR integrates with ffmpeg and you have Zprocess for the fancy stuff. That being said I note a couple of things

- vob files aren't passed to vlc, mpvmc plays them nativelly.
- you shouldn't override the default http interface it is started by telnet
- rm file couldn't be transcoded to mpg via the http interface when I wrote this.
- if you want to use GBPVR, the dongle on sub's survival guide is better than the nightly, the vlc interface is the same
- you should experiment with the versions of vlc on your own
- my command line that still works has remained simply "vlc -I Telnet"
