iTunes Plugin

As great as the iTunes interface is, it doesn't seem very well suited to controlling from a remote control. In search of a solution to this problem, I've started looking for a plugin to allow control of iTunes from GBPVR. I haven't found such a plugin. Has such a plugin been developed? Is there a more simple or elegant way to solve the problem that I have not seen?

In my search, I've also come across Apple's SDK documenting the iTunes COM interface, so such a plugin seems certainly possible to implement.

No plugin exists for that currently. It's on my todo list to look into it but I wouldn't hold your breath. I don't know if/when I'll get to it. Someone else may get to it before I do though.

It's not much, but I set out to explore the iTunes COM interface. It works well for Audio. I didn't get any Radio working, but I didn't try. I did spend a bunch of time trying to control the "full screen" mode when trying to play a video, but that seems broken or non-existent to me. The event interface didn't work straight away, but I've had problems with Events from the win32::OLE package in the past; I didn't dig into this.

Attached is a Perl script that I've been running under Cygwin with the win32::OLE package. It doesn't fit at all nicely into the .NET stuff you guys do, but I wanted to learn one thing at a time. Does this spark any interest in any developers out there who could make a skin around the COM interface?
