Hi,

i'm using v0.96 (or 0.98 :confusedSmile on an EPIA SP8000 at the moment and it's running well,
but is it possible to upgrade to version v1.2.9 or is my machine to slow for this version?
What do you think?

Sorry, I think it would be too slow. I'd recommend a minimum of about a 1.2GHz P3 with decent video card. You can give it a try and decide youself though - I certainly havnt tested it on a machine like that.

@sub: thanks for the info!

@turajb: The spec of my machine you can see in my signature and Iam using also an cyberlink code (i think it's the v7). I have nearly the same cpu usage values like you. Have you used an older version of gbpvr, before you have installed the v1.2.9? If so, was this one "faster" than the v1.2.9?
Is the PVRX2 so much faster than the old interface? Why? Have someone else the same problem that you have with the PVRX2, or is it only a problem on your machine or on epias?

The PVRX2 interface is based on Direct3D and is quite hard on these extra slow machines. Its not super demanding, and does still work well on some of the PIIIs CPU etc, but unfortunately the EPIAs are quire a bit slower and the onboard video card is pretty weak on the Direct3D front.

Thanks for the fast reply!! :-)
Is it possible to copy the whole gbpvr directory to an other lokation and copy it back if the new version doesnt work for me? Or have i to reinstall the old version that "test"?

I'm not really sure I dont test version changes that way. You'd probably best to backup your gbpvr.db3/config.xml files, then try upgrading to the new version. If you need to go back, then uninstall, delete the gbpvr directory, reinstall the old version, then restore the gbpvr.db3/config.xml files.

Is the channel list also stored in the config.xml?

No, the channels are in the gbpvr.db3 database file.

I could not wait till weekend and so i have installed the new version yesterday. :-)
It seems to work great! It's much faster than the old gbpvr interface!
Now I need half the time to switch through the menu.
Sub you did a good job!!! :-)
Thanks!
