Wanting the "impossible"?

I use pip all the time, but not for two TV shows. I don't really see much point of it being in GBPVR really. Just my opinion.

Now recording multiple shows from one stream...that I could get down on. I watch a lot of pbs, and sometimes there are different shows on the different digital "stations" that I want to watch... recording everything in one go would be fantastic. That and I could just purely show off to my friends by recording 50 or so music channels at once...just because

I will probably add multiple simultaneous recordings from the one digital tuner at some stage.

I'd definitely like to see that added in! This is probably the only thing preventing me from switching from WebScheduler to GBPVR for my TV recording needs.

I have 5 tuners on my system - it's not uncommon for WebScheduler to have 4 tuners in use recording programs and another for live TV viewing with DNTV Live! At times, WebScheduler can be recording to 7 different files from those 4 tuners due to overlapping recordings - to handle that with GBPVR would require another 3 tuners!

If GBPVR could share a tuner for recording and live TV viewing, it would be even better than what I've got now!

It can only record additional channels carried in the same transport stream, which isnt very useful in the US since they typically only have space to carry one HD channel. In the DVB world though, its pretty common to have five or so channels on the one frequency.

in my experience, there can be three HD channels on one frequency, my TV's QAM tuner would pick up stuff like 86.1 86.2 and 86.3, all HD. Given that one of them was encrypted but I still know that the theoretical limit is 3 HD channels or 10(13?) SD channels per standard analog channel frequency. or is this different than multiple streams?

The number of channels will vary between ATSC and QAM. ATSC has less bandwith available. You typically only get one HD channel, but might sometimes get an additional low def channel.

On QAM they can probably have five or six standard def channel channels on the one frequency.
