Hi-
I need help with my GB-PVR installation which stopped working all of a sudden a week ago. It was on version 1.2.9 and I turned on my MediaMVP, couldn't connect, so I checked out my server and tried to startup Config and PVRX2 and GBPVR UI and kept getting 1721 and 1722 errors. I was on Windows XP (SP2), so I tried a few things to try to fix the issue.

- Upgraded Windows XP to SP3
- Removed/Re-installed Microsoft .NET 2.0
- Reinstalled vcredist_x86.zip
- Backed up config.xml, gbpvr.db3 & gbpvr.mdb like I always do and re-inserted into gbpvr directory after new install
- Uninstalled GB-PVR 1.2.9, deleted gbpvr folder & upgraded to 1.2.13

Also to note on my system, I have my firewall turned off and am using Symantec Antivirus 10.0.0.359.

So it seemed to get rid of the 1721 and 1722 errors, but all I get now when I startup Config or PVRX2 are these two errors --which are attached as screenshots.

GB-PVR Configuration
GB-PVR Configuration has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

If you were in the middle of something, the information you were working on might be lost.

PVRX2
PVRX2 has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

If you were in the middle of something, the information you were working on might be lost.

I've also attached a copy of the logs which seem to indicate something about the .Net Runtime missing a Root file.

All advice is appreciated.
Thanks!

Looks like your config.xml is hosed.

Try and restore a backup of config.xml (then you may need to reinstall to take any changes applied for the new install) if you care about your settings.

Otherwise copy the config-master.dont-edit-me.xml to config.xml and try the config app then.

Did you ever edit your config.xml? Or save it using wordpad?

I used a backup copy of my config.xml but that didn't work. I took psycik's suggestion and used the default and it works fine now. Thank you psycik for your help!!! Big Grin That error message was driving me crazy!

If you ever save your config.xml using wordpad it will hose it up. You can carefully edit (make a backup first) using notepad.
