I searched and saw something similar was mentioned quite a while back, but the discussion quickly moved away from any talks of adding it...

Maybe I'm in the minority, but an extra button to transcode a recorded show, added to the normal play/delete/close options when you open up a specific recording would be extremely convenient. Being able to watch a show and then decide I want to transcode it for future viewing, or for others in the house rather than leave it uncompressed would be awesome.

I know I can transcode everything, a season recording, or go the back way through the video library for individual files, but this seems like a simple and common enough option that I thought I'd at least bring it up Big Grin

yeah, id be interested in it too - i dont really want my pc to transcode everything as we record quite a bit we dont keep. Alternatively, not that ive looked into it at all, but a time delay option for transcoding would be useful - ie if its been in the recording library for a month, it'll transcode to save space, rather than overnight.

I would also use this feature. This would be perfect for saving off older content.

Yes, I'v been missing that button too. A workaround I use is to define the recording-directory in Video-library, when I want to save a show I go to that show in Video-library and transcode it from there.

Another thing I wish for is a transcoding queue, I can only transcode one show at a time in video-library. Sub: Are you listening? Big Grin
