In the search guide are you able to see any listings for the current day? Or if you hold down the right arrow key to go forward in time, do you see any shows?

You might be onto something! If I search for a show that is currently playing, the search guide does not show it. For example, When I search for The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson (which started about half hour ago, the search result returns Monday's show). If I search for Seinfeld which will start half an hour from hour, it shows up just fine. However the TV Guide does not show anything even if I scroll to the right, except for the two shows in the image below (I scrolled ahead till Monday 8pm)

Thanks,

sub - not sure if this helps or not, but noticed that if I scroll BACK by one day, it does show listings which could explain why I saw the listings 24 hours ago. But these listings stop at around 10am as in the second screenshot below.

Also pvrx2 log file show several errors similar to:
Code:
2008-12-06 07:56:43.809    ERROR    [1]    Unable to find requested skin image: _TaskImages\TV Guide.png

And at the end of pvrx2-native log, there's the following error:
Code:
2008-12-06 07:59:24.961    VERBOSE    m_pD3DDev->Present() failed
Error code : 80004005
E_FAIL
An undetermined error occurred

Have attached the detail logs files (those that were updated) to this post.

Also, check my response to your qs in the previous post.

Thanks,

I'm guessing GB-PVR is working just fine, but you're feeding it an xml file that doesnt have listings at the time you're wanting to see them. (ie probably an mc2xml problem)

Quote:Also pvrx2 log file show several errors similar to:
Code:
2008-12-06 07:56:43.809    ERROR    [1]    Unable to find requested skin image: _TaskImages\TV Guide.png
This is normal for the blue skin and can be safely ignored. Its just saying the skin isnt supplying the optional task images.

Quote:And at the end of pvrx2-native log, there's the following error:
Code:
2008-12-06 07:59:24.961    VERBOSE    m_pD3DDev->Present() failed

E_FAIL
An undetermined error occurred
This is also norma and can be ignored. It happens when the application is shutting down. It tries to incorrectly display the menus one last time after direct3d has already been shut down.

sub - that is what I was thinking this morning as well. But looking at the xml files, the channel information seems to be there in the files. Only strange thing I noticed was when I opened the file in Internet Explorer, it gives the following message:
Code:
The XML page cannot be displayed
Cannot view XML input using style sheet. Please correct the error and then click the Refresh button, or try again later.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The system cannot locate the resource specified. Error processing resource 'xmltv.dtd'. Error processing resource 'file://...

<!DOCTYPE tv SYSTEM "xmltv.dtd">

Could this be related to the problem? Or is it normal for mc2xml generated files to give this error?

I have attached the xml files for the analog source (the one for the digital source is much bigger and exceeds the forum limit) - In any case, xmltv_1.xml is used by the HVR 1600 Analog capture source and xmltv_2.xml is used by HVR 1600 QAM capture source (reason for using xmltv_1.xml for analog, rather than xmltv_2.xml for both sources, is that xmltv_2.xml has lots more channels that I would have to manually delete from the analog capture source configuration screen whereas xmltv_1.xml has exactly the channels available to the analog capture source).

Thoughts?,

Open the XML file in notepad, not Internet Explorer

FWIW, I re-created the capture sources from scratch again - this time using titantv as the source instead of microsoft/zap2it in mc2xml. As can be seen from the screenshots below, it seems to be working again for now, although it only has data for a week. Since I have verified now that its showing data for a week, will see if it will go back to "no show data" for shows less than a week away.

I might also try switching back to zap2it for data source at some point. I know I will probably have to delete gbpvr.db3 and re-create the capture sources from scratch again, but getting data from titantv is just dog sloooow compared to from microsoft/zap2it

Wish me luck Smile

I know that you've having troubles so you won't want to tamper with it.

When mc2xml switches from titan to zap2it, it gets data that's around 14 days worth.

It's quite possible that using a different source is like a using a different grabber which is like switching TV providers.

You won't need to wipe out the db3, and start from scratch... Just 'Fix Channels' and after what seems like quite a long process, you will have all your channels aligned...

One way to solve this would be to place a copy of the dtd into the same folder as your xmltv_1.xml file (I've attached it - NOTE: It is NOT a zip file. I just added that extension to get it on the forum. Rename xmltv.dtd.zip to xmltv.dtd and save it to the same folder as your epg/xmltv_1.xml)

To put my money where my mouth was, I connected my capture source to your xmltv_1.xml file, ran ChangeEPGSources.bat,

http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Manual/EPG#toc40

and then opened GB-PVR TV Guide. Absolutely no problem. Some of the data is old, cause it's been a few days since you uploaded your sample...
