This should be a simple question. If I have my DVB card connected to an SW21 switch and each input in the switch is connected to a different LNB, how is this setup in config app. I was told that I need to create a capture source for each LNB. I have added 2, one for each sat, but the simple question is, wht do I give as device number? Are they both 1 or different numbers?

Thanks,
Greg

They'd both be device #1.

Thanks, quick follow up question. From what I am seeing, GBPVR does not support tone switches like SW21? I have to use a diseqc switch if I want multiple LNB? From what I see in the config app, this might be true since you have a choice of either [diseqc|none], instead of [diseqc|none|tone]

Actually, does <BDATwinhanDiseqcMethod> allow this? What does this parameter do?

Thanks,
Greg

I have no idea what a SW21 is.

I have a simple 22KHz tone switch that works with my Twinhan cards.

Ok, do I have to set <BDATwinhanDiseqcMethod> any special way? In config , I set diseqc to none on both capture source. Just trying to figure out the correct config setup for using a tone switch. Not at home so i can't see what other choices there are for that option.

Thanks,
Greg

From memory, with the 22KHz tone switch you need to set the diseqc option to either "SimpleA" or "SimpleB". Also try setting <BDATwinhanDiseqcMethod> to "1".

I found the following definition on DVBN. So I take it you don't support SW21? Sounds like you are using an SW22.

Quote:
SW22 is a tone switch ("22" in the name means 22 kHz).
SW21 is a legacy switch ("21" means: 2 inputs, 1 output).

legacy switches are used by two providers in North America only, nowhere else. They have proprietary communication protocol, and they have certain limitation (length of the coax cable, for instance).
No wonder they are not supported by the software written outside of N.A.

If you still want to use legacy switch, try TSReader.

Found some different types on this page. http://rocsat.com/switch.html

For GBPVR support of SW21, I'll have to wait until I get better definition of SimpleA, SimpleB and <BDATwinhanDiseqcMethod> .

Probably not based on the definition above, and no plans to do add support for any proprietary switches in future. Switches are cheap, so buy a more standard switch.

There isnt much to tell you. Twinhan for whatever reason decided to add additional changed APIs for controling diseqc in their drivers. The capabilities of all a pretty much the same. GB-PVR supports all three methods they have used.
