I though I'd add a link to the Hauppauge forum thread about this.

http://www.hauppauge.co.uk/board/showthr...88&page=29

People there seem to have had success changing just one file.

I thought it would be better to stick to one version rather than mixing versions but I may be over cautious.

Still it's probably worth reading that thread and making your own decision.

Anyway, just to be clear, this issue is specific to the Nova-T-500 and XP SP3.

It might not affect all types of Nova-T-500, I think there are 2 or 3 types.

It only seems to happen when both tuners are active. In my case it seemed to BSOD about once a week during normal usage.

If you have been using a Nova-T-500 under XP SP3 for a few months without a problem then I'd guess you're probably not affected.

Thanks guys!

I just loaded XP Pro SP2 and called it good. I was running Vista Ultimate and I got a little flicker on the guide screen that bothered me so I was trying XP to see if that went away, and it did!

Anyway, I was in a hurry so i didn't update it at all. That may have been a mistake as I got an odd problem - Live TV would play fine for a couple minutes, then the audio would break up, the the video would stutter and eventually it would lock up. Exiting and coming back fixed it for a couple minutes then it would do it again. Codecs didn't help. I finally found it was a problem with AMD dual cores and the AMD processor driver fixed it. I saw some posts where there were some M$ hot fixes too that helped some so maybe if I would've updated it I wouldn't have the problem.

Whatever, it's running perfectly now so I'm not inclined to mess with it! Smile

I'm waiting for a PVR-500 to arrive and the new version of GBPVR to come out, as soon as they do I'll button it up and stick it in the entertainment ceter.

Thanks again!

Steve
