I would like to make a plugin to execute a youtube shortcut. I understand that the youtube plugin is dead.

I created a few plugins (not wrote code or anything), but by pluging i mean i just made some shortcuts to run my Creative X-fi App, open my logitech wingman profiler app, and Free Internet Eraser app.

I see that when you make a plugin (shortcut imho), you can only run an .exe

So how do i make a quick exe that when you run it it will open op a shortcut to the youtube home page?

Also, i would like to put the hard disk defrag app into a plugin. problem it is not a .exe it is shows up as "System32\dfrg.msc"... what ever a .msc file is.

how can i executa a .msc file from the plugin maker that only will run a .exe?:confused:

thanks in advance

Are you talking about about adding a custom task in the Plugins tab of the Config? Just point it to the internet explorer executable (C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe) and put the URL in the "Command line arguments" box.

When browsing for an executable, you can also enter "*.*" and hit enter to show all files. You can then select shortcuts (.lnk), Batch files (.bat), etc.

mmc.exe opens .msc files but I would just run defrag.exe with command line parameters: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/283080

i got it to work , thanks.

i have another question for ya.

I noticed twice now, two shortcuts, i've made will not run the app (start the app)

1. XstreamXM pops up a dos type box, for a fast second, then disappears but doesnt run

2. encyclopedia Britanica software creates an error box, but yet if you run the shortcute I put in directly from their respectve folders, they run fine.

I notice that at the bottom in the task bar, it's seems like gbpvr is trying to run theapp from a cmd prompt? could this be the problem?

It's like the dont like to be run from another app ?????:confused:

Sounds like it's displaying an error then exiting. Create a batch file that has the command and then a pause command. Set the batch file as your task. This should allow you to see what the problem is.

What does the error box say?
