So I just updated my dedicated pvr system to a newer mb/cpu and video card so it could handle HD videos. I also switched to Vista Ultimate so I could use EVR. My tuner cards and cable are all the same

On my old setup, I got about 40-50 working QAM channels plus another 30 or so music channels. I got roughly the same in WinTV

In Vista on my new setup, (same Hauppauge 1600), in WinTV, I only get the music channels, In GBPVR, I get nothing at all. I have not tried the built in Windows media center yet. GBPVR tells me 0 channels detected.

My TV detects 438 digital channels that are not encrypted (so it says, I have not gone through them yet).

I am probably missing something small, but I can't figure it out. I have been looking over it for about a week now and at am a loss.

My new system is as follows:
MB: Asus A8N-SLI Delux
CPU: AMD Athlon 64 3500
Mem: 1 Gb
Video: ATI 3650 512mb
Tuner Cards: Hauppauge 1600
Hauppauge PVR-150

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks for any help and Thank you Sub for a great piece of software.

The logs show the scan locking onto signals but the quality seems low. If you have any splitters, try removing them.

Whurlston can you check here: http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=38812

I get negative signal but good quality??? and it works in wintv (which is awful).

I'll be so happy to have a new mediapc after 8months.

Inside the house, I have a splitter and an amp. I do not know what they have outside. I will try to redo my splitters tonight to see if that makes a difference.

Does Vista require a stronger signal than XP did? With XP, I got around 70 channels with the exact same splitter configuration as I have now. It seems that the application software would determine the strength required and I am using the same application, with the exception of it being a different version.

Thanks for taking a look at the logs. I will check the box outside and see what they have for splitters out there and also see what I can do inside as well.

Thank you.
