I see threads regarding multi-record - what is it? How would it affect my setup, or is it specific to another type of setup?

I see that you have a 2250. If you are using it to record digital OVER THE AIR ATSC or cable CLEAR QAM then any programs that share the same frequency i.e. 15.1, 15.2, 15.4 etc. can be recorded at the same time on one tuner. This is really great for cable QAM setups where many of the different channels are set up to use sub channels of the same frequecy. I'm not sure what the limit of sub channels on a frequency is but it's quit a few. So theoreticaly you could record all the channels on the sub channels on one tuner at the same time.

I too have a 2250 and plan to implement this as soon as I can come up with a fool proof way to comskip and transcode the transport streams this setups produces. Mencoder does not maintain good a/v sync on the produced ts files so right now I'm using the cyberlink mux filter. If any one knows how to maintain good sync let me know. I wish ffmpeg had an option for using edl files since for some reason it produces better synced files.

How do I enable it? You say "OVER THE AIR ATSC or cable CLEAR QAM" - I only intend to do CLEAR QAM right now - should I enable this feature?

Yes, you should enable it. In the "Misc 2" tab in Config, there is a check box to enable it.

In GBPVR config on the Misc2 tab, make sure BDA Multiplexer is set to TS Mux then you can enable Multi-Record support.
