I don't see the NetflixAPI in the zip file

Tried it anyway with the previous NetflixAPI.dll using ver 1.0.24. I can now access "Anne" and start a download without a crash. CPU runs about 30-40% average with 100% for short periods.

But, I don't get a download. It seems to be streaming the movie. When "download" is selected, it immediately plays the movie. I can hear the sound track, but I can't see the video. I have to exit GB to stop it. An icon does appear in the DL list, but the file isn't there. If I select "cancel download" it says it's not active.

I think your on the right track and some of this may be due to my mixing the file versions. I'll reload everything when I get the new files.

OK - I think you nailed it.

I loaded the two new files over my ver 1.0.24 and tried "Anne" again. It downloaded and played without a hitch. I can't do any more tests right now because we are in wife's prime recording time. I'll run a more complete test in the morning and give you an update. Can you tell us what the problem was?

Really appreciate all your work.

thanks again,

When I was adding support for Silverlight, I had some test code in the downloader that I forgot to remove. That was why reverting back to 1.0.2.4 worked. When the preview stuff changed on the website it broke 1.0.2.4 but I still had to remove the test code from the downloader, which is why my first patch didn't work.

whurlston,

This morning, I reloaded ver 1.0.25 and then replaced the two dlls. Everything works! I can download, preview and play previous downloads. CPU (P4/2.5) load ~40% average. It also seems faster than I remember.

I think its a go.

thanks,

emr

ps: I have some suggestions for several enhancements you might consider in a future release whenever you get some "spare time".

1) Add a confirmation to "delete" and "cancel download"
2) Add skip functions
3) Change the volume controls to use the left and right cursor buttons instead of up and down to conform to other GB apps

thanks again

Glad to hear it. I can package this up for a (semi) release then to get Silverlight and Non Silverlight users on the same version.

1) Unfortunately, this will be a non issue next month when Neflix forces everyone into Silverlight. No more downloading.

2) I'm working on figuring out how to perfom trickplay with the Silverlight player, but it is not going to be easy.

3) Those commands are actually being caught and processed by the "internal" player's WMP ActiveX object. I never could figure out how to override them. I'll see what I can do with the Silverlight though.

1.0.2.6 Will probably be the last version of this plugin in it's present form. I'm recoding everything for the Silverlight version and unless Netflix pushes back the rollout date of January, I'm not going to spend time on this version. I will be fixing anything that breaks in the meantime though.

With the current plugin using Silverlight, any chance you can fix the issue where TV shows only offer the 'Download' option instead of 'Watch'? Or does 1.0.2.6 already fix that?

No, I completely forgot about that. I'll see if I can fix it but with it being the holidays, it might take me a couple of days. Guess there will be one more build of this version after all. Big Grin
