Newbie to PCH

I've installed the telnet option from lundman.net from usb drive

Since I see gbpvr and not mvpmc in the list, I will assume you did rename the mvpmc share so you would also need to edit GB-PVR.html

you were right , I have now changed that gbpvr back to mvpmc I was looking completly in the wrong place.

I thought when setting up the Media Source on PCH i would label it as GBPVR rather than mvpmc. I didn't realise that was used by PCH to reference the share.

ie.
Media Source Label gbpvr
Media Source Share smb://192.168.200.1/mvpmc/index.html

for anyone else out there that might be in a similar stuck position.
my setup is server 2003 using ntfs sharing not using Guest accounts or simple file sharing


1) use mvallevands dummys install program.
2) create a new user account on your server, my username is pch and password is 1234
3) share the mvpmc folder, share perms user=read, ntfs user=full
4) use EditPro software to edit all files!!
5) edit index.html amend the line.

6) edit startmeup amend as needed.
7) edit gbpvr.cgi
mount -t cifs //192.168.200.1/mvpmc /etc/mvpmc -o username=pch,password=1234,ro



8) Now on your PCH click setup> network share> add

Share Name mvpmc
URL smb://your_server_ip/mvpmc
User Name username
Password password

click save
the stuff highlighted in red is your own info.

thats it
to run on PCH
Click on mvpmc from the Media Source Page.
Click the Blue button/4th icon
Click GB-PVR.html
Click GB-PVR

I'm glad you got it, however you could have left it gbpvr, as long as the GB-PVR.html file has the matching name. The NMTInstall program creates the file using hostname:mvpmc which is the PCH default too and that is why I say to not change the default PCH name.
