I am currently using GB-PVR 1.3.11 and using zap2xml as the EPG data grabber. Everything is currently working, I'm getting my TV Guide schedule but just the basic information.

My currently UpdateEPG.bat file has the following entries:

C:\GBPVR\EPG\zap2it\zap2xml.exe -u userid@charter.net -p password -A -i icon
copy "C:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr\xmltv.xml" C:\GBPVR\EPG\xmltv.xml

Questions:

1. How do I get the extra data displayed in the TV Guide? Like if the show is New.

2. How do I get the icon information to display? The icon data downloads but unable to open the files. They download as .gif files.

Thanks for any help

I hope I don't upset anyone.... Big Grin but, it's my suggestion to switch from zap2xml to mc2xml. I believe that you will get more information right from the start. Then using UltraXMLTV_Enhancer, you can get New Show indicators easily enough (for the record, I believe if new show indicators is all you want then zap2xml is good enough, I think, I think...)

Icons are a separate issue. I Use them and can help you, though it's not really my bag... Basically if there is a channel log with the same name as the channel >> channel: '3 CFCN' and logo: '3 CFCN.gif' the logo will display.

What do you mean by unable to open? In Explorer gifs should open easy enough. Do you mean they won't display in GB-PVR...?

I used to ask 'why?' Now I just reinstall...

Yes, I would just like a little more detail on the TV Schedule listings, like "New listings" and the Channel Icons. Do I have to use another add-on like the UltraXMLTV_Enhancer to extract the data out?

I'm using zap2xml because it's totally free, theres no monthly or yearly fee. Is the mc2xml totally free as well?

- For the Icon issue, it appears the icon data downloads to the icon subdirectory under the GBPVR directory but does not display in the GBPVR TV Guide. Nor can I open them to view them with nero or windows image viewers. When I attempt to open them it states something like the file is corrupt.

Thanks for your help

Yes mc2xml is free. Yes, for either grabber you will need to use an enhancer to get New Show indicators.

I think the wiki explins things pretty well. If you run into trouble, let me know

Icons: if you can't view them in Explorer, then yeah, it sound slike the they are corrupt. Perhaps you should get help from the program's author

1. use -A "new live" on command line

C:\GBPVR\EPG\zap2it\zap2xml.exe -u userid@charter.net -p password -A "new live" -i icon

from zap2xml thread:
http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=28897&page=9

2. use latest zap2xml, it had fixes for icon download (delete the old icons first)

Both are same donation software

Use "-A -a" if using mc2xml to get the new show indicator stars

mc2xml -c us -g 99999 -A -a
