Help, my asterisks have disappeared!?

So, I was having a bunch of problems getting things to work straight with my hardware under windows xp, but I did have GB-PVR setup the way I liked and it worked well.

I just upgraded to Vista and all of my hardware problems have gone away. GB-PVR is working great, except that the asterisks that indicate a new airing for a show have completely disappeared.

I am using I-xmltv and schedules direct. It is configured the same way as before and seems to be working correctly (my guide does populate with the correct shows).

any ideas?

GB-PVR doesnt add the asterisks, thats done by I-xmltv. I can only guess its something going wrong in I-xmltv.

Thank you sub, hopefully (despite it being an Ixmltv or schedules direct issue) enough people in this forum will be familiar with these programs and someone may know why this issue has cropped up.

Where you using UltraXMLTV or something similar to add this before?

Hi, Since you changed OS, Could this be as simple as checking the font and seeing if the asterisk is defined?

I can't speak for I-XMLTV... I suspect it is having troubles with Vista.

I'm sure that someone will be able to find out what it is for you...

I wanted to mention though, that if you decided to try UltraXMLTV Enhancer, you will not want to use I-XMLTV as your grabber.

I-XMLTV is a grabber and enhancer.

You would need to use a different grabber. I believe many Vista/Schedules Direct users are having success using XMLTV with UltraXMLTV Enhancer

I am using vista and i-xmltv and am still getting asterisks beside 'new' shows. So i don't believe it is a vista + i-xmltv problem.

So, I wanted to thank you guys for your suggestions. I won't have an opportunity to try and fix things until friday.

I figure it's not a font problem because I saw the show M*A*S*H listed. And Carlito says i-xmltv works for him with vista (weird, I copied my existing working i-xmltv directory and when it didn't work I re-ran the --configure, im not sure what else can be done).

I guess this leaves me with zehd's suggestion of switching to UltraXMLTV.

If anyone else has a suggestion please chime in.
