So I've been using 1.3.11 for a month or so now and I'm having some weird issues.
  1. From time to time it will fail to mark shows for recording.
In my recurring recordings I have GBPVR set to record all episodes of Scrubs on Comedy Central (channel 40 here). It's on every day from 7-7:30 and from 7:30-8:00 and is on at certain times on the weekends as well. For the last 2 weeks it simply stopped marking those shows for recording. Other recordings work fine. The episodes it's skipping are not already recorded and are not pending on any other channel. It just won't mark them to record, almost as if the episodes I deleted never actually got marked as deleted. It did work for a while, then stopped recently. I know it's not the EPG because I can see the episodes in the TV Guide listings on GBPVR that shows GBPVR does know the episode is listed.
If I accidentally cancel a recording and re-schedule it it will not show up in the pending list.
Last night I was looking through my scheduled recordings (investigating issue #1) and I accidentally hit "CANCEL" instead of "CLOSE" when looking at one of the pending recordings. It canceled that episode, of course. I then went back and manually marked that show to be recorded. It never showed up in the pending list. I don't know if it's scheduled now or not.

Last night it recorded something but didn't the episode it recorded never showed up in the ready list!
It started recording a show at 1:30am. The show completed at 2am, and shortly thereafter I went into the list of ready shows, selected the show, went down to the episode it just recorded and that episode wasn't there! It wasn't listed. It was as if it hadn't even recorded.

Occasional crash when exiting PVRx2.
When I exit PVRx2 sometimes I get a windows popup that PVRx2 crashed. When I looked in the pvrx2 logs I see a SQLite fault. This doesn't really concern me, but I thought I'd mention it.
I am using mc2xml for the listings.

I'm attaching my most recent logs which do include at least one EPG update. Has anyone else seen these issues? I didn't have these problems with older (.96.X) versions, but since upgrading these are the issues I've run into and I'm hoping someone has some ideas. I looked through the 1.3.11 thread but I haven't seen any patches that reference anything like this.

Help is greatly appreciated!
Thanks
Marc

Regarding "Occasional crash when exiting PVRx2". This can be caused by exiting GB-PVR before it's finished loading the TV Guide data. More of a annoyance then a problem.

That makes sense. Like I said, that's not even really an issue for me since I hardly EVER exit PVRx2, but I included it because it's in the logs I attached. I'm more concerned with the scheduling issues.

Have you had those specific episodes recorded in the last month or so? This can stop it rerecording them. Try running "pvrx2.exe -removehistory"

How did you reschedule the episode?

What was the name of the show - I'll check the logs.

This was the problem McBain referred to, which happens when you exit the app before the EPG finishes loading in the background. The next release speeds up the loading of the EPG quite a bit, so it'll be a lot less likely you'll see it.

Most likely yes. This sounds like the cause. Can I run pvrx2 -removehistory while pvrx2 is running? Is it something I can automate as part of the epg update?

I clicked on the episode and told it to record that individual episode just once. I hadn't canceled the whole recurring recording, just the one instance. So I manually reset that one instance.

Scrubs (episode was "My Office"). Ok, so I love that show! Tongue But yes, it was recorded at 1:30am on channel 17. The status of the recording service said it recorded, but it does not show up in the ready list.

Ok, like I said, this issue isn't a big deal to me, but thanks for the info.

Thanks for the help! Smile

I cant remember. Try it and see.

That should have been ok. If you can reproduce the problem, then zip and attach the pvrx2.exe.log, I'll take a look.

Can you post the GBPVRRecordingService.exe.log that was missing from the zip?

It doesn't look like you can run -removehistory from a script, since it starts PVRx2. If UpdateEPG gets called from within UpdateEPG and you try and call PVRx2 -removehistory, you'll end up with 2 running copies of PVRx2. A command line tool to remove history or something like that would be useful, but that's just a suggestion and I'm not looking to sound ungratelful or demanding Smile Does removehistory touch the database or just delete some cache files of some kind? Maybe it's something I can cobble together.

Well I went back in and looked and it was not in my pending list and the TV Guide didn't show it as marked for recording, but when I went into the "Search TV Listings", the episode in question (March 25th and 8pm on channel 6) was listed in red and I couldn't click on it. I went back to the TV Guide and clicked on it and said "Quick Record" and now it shows up in the pending list. Odd. It should show up in the logs I attached here.

sub Wrote:I'll check this in the logs.

I am attaching my entire log directory, which includes my logs as far back as early Feb, which is when I first installed 1.3.11. It's more than you need, I know, but that way if you do end up needing it it's all there.

I really appreciate the help. This is why I keep using GBPVR Smile

If you dont want it to remember history, then set <RetainedPreviousEpisodeDays> to 0 in config.xml. The default is 40 days.

Do you remember when you did it so I know where to look in the logs.

Excellent! That's exactly what I was hoping for.

It would have been last night (3/16) into early morning... Probably between 1 and 2am (so technically 3/17).
