How does MVP Talk to gb-pvr?

I'm trying to get some info on how MVP talks to GB-PVR.
I would like to code a Python script for XBMC to control the TV functions of GB-PVR and maybe even stream live TV to the Xbox.

Is there any documentation, or source of info that could help me with this.
