Hello!

I want to know the free diskspace is enough to record a show.
I have found an utility here, but this only get the free disk space and compares it with an value that i have give before.

It could be an value in the GBPVR setup. First you make an record, manualy of 1 minute (or 10 minuts) and you have the filesize (so you can manualy edit the value, i think it will be differrent between codecs)
With this, GBPVR callculate the filesize for the scheduled records.
If the free disk space is lower, GBPVR shows an popup, when you go to the recordings menue, or when you start GBPVR ?!

I think this is a good (and simple) idea ?!?
- Gericom HUMMER Laptop with Celeron 2,4 GHz 1GB RAM but only 30GB HDD :-(
- OPERA DVB-S USB Box and the Graph Recorder plugin to use the original software for this box (no BDA driver).
- To use the scheduled recording i made an conversion program that "look" into the database "GBPVR.db3".
- Girder with IR USB

impossible as some digital programs have different bit rates etc so untill you get the whole recording you have no idea how big its going to be
basically make sure you have a big hard drive and keep 10Gig free per recording SD movie and double that for HD
analog is different because its encoded by the hardware encoder on the tuner card so most recordings are the same or similar size
i think xrecord has a feature similar to what you are talking about

I tested XRecord, but it´s not good for me.
I use the slick skin and there are to many options i dosnt need...and the control is not the best i mean.

At the moment i made an small tool to calculate the filesize.
It will work like i postet in the first thread.
It use an entry in an INI file and scan all scheduled recordings in the gbpvr.db3
If it will be called, it will be copy the gbpvr.db3 to an other folder, scan the recordings, calculate the filesize and shows an small window for 5 seconds (can be set in the INI) and close.

Ok, it does´t look for the quallity or the bit rates, but i don´t use this.
I use the external recorder plugin with the original software of my DVB-S Box, so i can not change the quality.

Is there a way to add an menu item to the recordings menu ?
At the moment i use an custom task, but then the entry is in the root menu only. If its to heavy to add an menu item, this will be ok.
