tearing with ATI 9250

Hi,
I have tried so many things that haven't changed the tearing I get - at about the top 1/5 of the screen.
Has anyone got a ATI 9250 card to work for SD without tearing? if so please tell me your secrets?

FSE mode...use vmr9 fse mode....but even then i'm not sure you can get rid of it...
[that card isn't all that fast]
for best results, i'd try driver ver cat. 8.11, vmr9 fse, ati codec, set 'wait for vertical refresh' to 'always' in catalyst control panel...[stops tearing]

try all the other settings before changing driver...might not need to...and not sure if 8.11 is best for that card but it is for every other one i've tried..
