Hi,

With CS 4.0.2 WS, the transcode line overlaps the Record & Cancel buttons when doing a season record.

that feature isn't complete and you can turn it off with a setting in config.xml
[i don't remember the name exactly]
that way that line won't show at all and everything will look ok..Smile

Good catch, I hadn't seen that before.

As pBS said this setting is set to "false" by default in the config.xml:
Code:
<ShowTranscodeDuringSchedule>false</ShowTranscodeDuringSchedule>

For now that's your bet bet, but I'll take a look at resizing the positioning for this pop-up if needed.

Cheers

For reference I've found that setting defaults to True on a fresh install of 1.3.11. I've fixed up that pop-up to allow all 6 buttons to appear if needed. The change will appear with the next release of CS4. I guess if someone really wants it fixed now I can post the changed files (1 for SD, 1 for WS) here if someone asks and the senior CS devs ok it.

For me on a clean install this setting is set to false (I guess why I hadn't seen it before). Which suggested that (as per pBS's post above) that this feature might not be fully implemented. I was waiting to see if it's actually used before I had a quick look at the layout.

I tried to harmonize the pop-up layouts that I reviewed for CS4. So if the ShowRecordingPopup.xml needs 6 selections rather than 5, I thought I might have to double check it in relation to some of the other pop-ups for consistency (eg element spacing, button placement and selector sizing (they need to be able to accommodate 2/3 point increase in text size).

The change I made may not be quite right yet; as you probably saw I just made the element sizing enough smaller to accomodate the 6th button, and also started the first button a couple of points higher on the page. It looked good here, but probably would not accomodate a much larger text size. I agree, there does need to be harmony between the different pop-ups or the result will eventually look slap-dash which would not befit a project of this quality.

Let me look at it a little more; I had some other thoughts on how to change the layout.

Good stuff!

I also wanted to make sure that none of my posts yesterday (written in a rush :o) were discouraging. I think it's fantastic you've got some ideas and want to chip in.

If you've got any questions or want to bounce around any of those ideas just let us know.

Not at all discouraging. And you SHOULD defend the quality of your project at every turn. I know you and the other guys have more hours in on this project than I ever will.
