After 12months of stable use, my machine just started crashing about 3 out of 4 times when a tuning request is made of either tuner in my Nova 500T.

Annoying!

I have tried the usual:
- updating the driver
- removing refitting the card
- swapping arial leads
- swapping PCI slots

Nothing has provided a reliable fix. I know the drivers for this card can be a bit flakey, and have certainly seen the lock-up during scan.

I have just tried these:
Nova-T-500_4_3_26168_WHQL
Nova-T-500_4_3_25080_WHQL
Nova-T-500_4_3_26168_WHQL
WinTV-Nova-DT-500_4_1_24118_WHQL

I am now trying the driver from here http://www.newmagic.com.au/Support/Haupp...ivers.html and it seems better.....

Could anyone using the card sucessfully please chck thier driver verion and let me know what is working for them.

What I am seeing at the moment is that I can select and watch a channel - but as soon as I try to change windows says that PVRX2.exe has found a error and must close... (the usual windows tantrum) The funny thing is that the channel change is actually successful for a few seconds after the error message.

There is nothing obvious from this info, but do you have the patches from the survival guide installed?

Thank sub - I had missed the last few updates.
Now that I have installed them I think things may have improved. I am no longer getting outright crashes!

I am now tuning 3 out of the 5 channel families just fine. On the other two I am just getting the 'no signal' pop-up.

Where it get weird is if I perform a scan it finds these two just fine - and the config app claims the strength is ~75% and the quality 100%.

Is there any way to make the tuning request more 'forgiving'?

Oh, the other piece of information that may be linked is that these two channels both recently changed their names. Obviously I updated the EPG, rescanned and reassigned the channel mapping. But I wonder if something else changed at this point also.
