I went into GBPVR lastnight to setup a recording. I have it set to come into the TVGuide. Before I set a recording, I scroll to the station and select 'Watch' from the menu to make sure I'm getting a signal. In LiveTV the narration was in Spanish! This is the first time this has happened to me. I checked my Settings and they were set to English. I checked the show on my actual TV set, and it was in English. I went ahead and made the recording and the recording was in English. Only 'Live TV' was Spanish.

I'm pretty confident this patch corrects the issue: http://forums.gbpvr.com/showpost.php?p=3...ostcount=3

You'll need to rescan though.

Up through the previous version, I was under the impression that scanning had no effect on tuning until you mapped the results of the scan. (Mapping put the results of the scan - located in the scan.cache file into the gbpvr.db3 db.) Conversely, the scan.cache file never changed unless/until you rescanned. Has any of this changed? (Something in the comments about new logic for handling broadcaster changes in PID has left me thinking there might be changes I missed.)

There is logic in 1.4.7 which will at the end of the scan, which will look at any previously mapped channels, and update the audio/video pids if they've changed. There was initially a flaw in this logic, but it was corrected in the patch mentioned above.

Sub,

Is this a general patch that should be applied before rescanning for ATSC channels in the US?

Only if you're having problems. Some users wont be effected, and wont need the patch.

I tried a scan with out the patch and got Spanish on one channel. If I have time I'll a try another scan, but I don't dare miss getting The Big Bang Theory recorded or the family will be after me.
