Considering the E-Great EG-M34A - is that the present "state of the art" NMT device now?
Also, currently using 2 mvp clients - can the GBPVR server handle a setup with 1 E-Great EG-M34A and 1 mvp ... or do I have to buy 2 x E-Great EG-M34A if I want to change setup?
Regards
Jakob

If you want to get the GBPVR interface the MVP and the NMT are the only option. Of the NMT's the EGreat M34a has more features then the first generation A100.

If you don't want the GBPVR interface comskip or live tv, then there are several newer models, after all my A100 is almost 2 years old now.

For state-of-the art in media players I think that will be the Syabas C-200 as the firmware matures. There is also the HDI Dune 3.0 Both of these are nice because the play commercial BluRay and DVD.

There is also a second tier of "new generation player based on a better chip than the EGreat. Examples would be the new version WDTV Live, the coming Hauppauge HD MVP, and the Eminent EM7075.

Finally there are already about a dozen models out now based on a Realtek chip. It might not be better than the NMT but it is affordable.

There's a good thread on this at mpcclub http://www.mpcclub.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=50

No not really. It sounds like it'll be out in the next couple of weeks though.

Its unlikely mvpmcx2 will be on it for a long time though, so probably not worth waiting for if anyone is looking for a GB-PVR client device.

As much as I wish it wasnt the case, I suspect it'll be too little too late, and just disappear out of sight among the large number of more established media streaming devices.

Thanks....not in the market for anything right now....perfectly happy with my two A100's.....but will be upgrading our Den to have TV in the next 6 months or so and looking to see where I go from here.

Thks - think I need to look a little more around. Would like a client with an easy to use video interface and strong features for my music collection (tag based, random playlisting, on the spot update ability album art/info) however would ofcause be nice if it was possible to incl. netradio, podcast downloading etc :-)
Anyway - fairly happe with the current gbpvr mvp interface ... would just love something with a little faster response time ... and with a little more stable music interfase than current ML3 beta!

I'm confused about what you are looking for. A client to GBPVR even the PC can't offer you more features than GBPVR or the plugins offer themselves.

The old ML 2.7 (http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Plugi...brary2.zip) serves me perfectly.

I was just speculating in my prevous post - if im going for a solution not involving the gbpvr client user interface I would for instance look for features offered in winamp - like rating, customized views, possibility of adding and selecting multiple genres/keywords among others. I think when you look a little closer on other music players you will not have difficulties in finding features not supported in the current ML3 ... you can of cause always argue wether these are important/necessary!
My initial post was trickered because I was tired of using time on upgrading - couldnt get the ML2 to work ... succeeded in installing ML3 - but its a bit unstable. Nothing I cant live with, but would just like to know what "next generation solutions" are out there, and wether I should go for changing hardware setup now ... or just wait a little :-)

Jakob
