Would anybody be able to tell me what exactly the bottleneck is when trying to perform complex EWA functions?
I was messing around some of the functions in EWA such as recording any time and any day of a show, but now, after 15 minutes it seems like the GB server is still crunching away at something. Can't get any page to load.
Normally I work around this issue by selecting only a few things at a time to record, but I want to get to the bottom of what is happening.
Just wondering if whatever the process is doing the crunching, (i.e. SQL?) could be done by another computer (a full blown SQL server for instance.)

Thanks!

Do you see the same slowness within the native GBPVR client? EWA uses the API provided from the client and I am interested in knowing if you see the same delay when using the client.....although I am not sure if you can do mass record selections like you can via EWA.....I seldom use the PC Client.

Sorry for the delay in responding. I formatted and have GB up and running on windows 2003 server now.
I did try and schedule a seasonal recording and it is taking dreadfully long. I am looking at the pvrx2 log and can see its doing the search and tagging each possible recording but dang is it slow.
Also, (in W2K3 vs Vista) when I try and schedule a seasonal recording in EWA it takes about 2 seconds, refreshes the page and nothing happens (as in nothing is listed for seasonal recordings.) I remember in Vista it would think for a minute then refresh the page with an entry saying repeating recording or whatever the text is.
Not sure which log looks at EWA activity or I would post it.

The EWA log is available from the Statistics tab.
