Some GBPVR users access TV from a set top box by connecting an analog tuner (e.g. Hauppauge pvr 150) ... http://www.hauppauge.com/site/products/data_pvr150.html Typically, the set top box is connected using component cables or s-video.

I used it fine. you have to just set up a set top box to the tuner and use an ir blaster
If you want to know why nPVR is the bomb, ask my wife!
