I have a Hauppauge HVR1800 on Windows XP. I can tune all my ATSC channels fine, but on a couple of channels the show is compressed to fill the upper half of the screen and the rest is pixelated.

These same channels display fine when tuning with WinTV or NeroVision. My logs are attached.

From memory, an nvidia driver bug can cause this when using hardware acceleration with VMR video renderers. If this is you, either try switching video renderers, or disabling hardware acceleration.

I do indeed have an NVidia Video card (GT240 with latest drivers) I tried turning off hardware acceleration which resulted in no LiveTV displaying at all. I went thru each of the four VMR video renderers available to me (VMR9 full screen, VMR9 Custom, EVR, and Overlay) and the same channels do not display properly.

You may need to try a different video decoder. The nvidia decoder works well for some users, but also misbehaves for quite a few users.

Am I correct that it's the H.264 decoder at work for ATSC? I've tried six different decoders and all give the same result. (MPC,Mainconcept, ffdshow, DivX, Core AVC, system default)
