anybody played with latest ffdshow beta7? really nice, fixed seeking blockies, tons of other stuff..colorspaces and other stuff..
so efficient even my intel g965 looks great under win7..
works on intel/ati/nvidia hardware w/semi-acceleration for mpeg2 and mpeg4/divx types..

and notably,
"FFDShowAPI: .NET wrapper around FFDShowRemoteAPI allows integration of ffdshow with third-party applications"
among other things..

latest nightlies now have a separate !!DXVA!! h.264 and vc1 decoder also..Big Grin

basically if you use ffdshow already, no reason not to upgrade, it's gotten much better all around..Smile

wow, maybe I'll give it a try again as my first-line decoder. just had too many issues to deal with before, but everyone deserves a second chance. Smile

Weird. When I tried it I had stuttering on recorded HDTV, but my HTPC is ueber-wimpy. But still use it for all audio. I like Cyberlink better for MPEG2... .

Wow. Thanks pbs. This update resolved playback issues I've been having in Windows 7 using ffdshow decoders.

Every version I've tried doesn't seem to work in Win7. Neither audio or video seems to have the priority to run.

I miss my ffdshow.

This gave me sync issues. It might me that I use OTA ATSC and have significant timeline problems.

I resolved it by setting "Drop frame on delay" to 100ms from 1500ms.

The mpeg decoder looks to be much improved. The AVC DXVA decoder works well too although it seems like it only supports profile 4.1 and lower. A 1080P w/4 reference frames is decoded via DXVA while 1080P w/5 reference frames falls back to the software decoder.

yea, mpeg2 is much improved, and now you can use avcodec with livetv too..Smile
[so multithreading is now available] and channel change blockies are gone..

i'm using the nightly and there's improvement in all areas, tho it seems to use slightly more cpu than it used to, still it's quite stable and robust...
i use it with atsc also, but stream discontinuations boggle any decoder...you really need to get a better antenna for atsc....i'm on a coathanger db2 and now even running 2 feeds off it..Smile [using 2 baluns at source is usually better than splitting single ant. output]

Olympics look great! Big Grin

I agree about the antenna. I have had issues for years but am finally taking the plunge and putting a winegard 8200U on the roof. Take that reception issues!
