Intermittant no video but ok sound

I have been changing my setup alot over the last weeks, so far so good but this ones got me puzzled. Yesterday I upgraded my server to windows7, I have 2 NMTs a PCH A100 plugged dierectly into my router and an istar plugged into a switch which is plugged into my router.
When I installed I ran the full gbpvr etc...install from the wiki and added the PCH during setup. I then edited config.xml to start 2 NMT/MVP's and re-ran the MVPCx2 installer again but only ticked the update PCH settings (or similar wordage).
So the problem I have is the PCH is fine but the istar gives me intermittant no video. I can play recordings from the NMT ok, but about 9/10 if I go into gbpvr on the NMT the front end is ok but it wont play live tv or recordings, the mini guide comes up ok and I get audio (hdmi) but the screen stays black unless I back out to the gbpvr front end. Sometimes a cold boot of the NMT fixes it but mostly it doesn't. It must be something simple i've missed, the videos play ok but just not from MVPMCx2.....

Reset things to one MVP server, duplicate the actual problem and then re-send your logs.

Whats the best way to go back to 1 client, bearing in mind the problem one was the second one (istar) I added? Delete the the MAC section of the 1st NMT form config xml and set servers to 1?

The logs I attached should have captured the problem...PCH was unplugged, istar was running, cleared the logs on the server and re-booted...went to the istar and started mvpmcx2 and hey presto no video on live tv.

Whilst I'm here where is the setting for pre-play delay on the NMT? or isn't there such a thing...I can't quite work out if the MVP pre play or the live tv pre play on the payback tab in config are doing anything.

Those logs didn't capture it. Reset to one and turn off the other devices and connect the istar.

There shouldn't be need for any extra livetv prebuffer, at least in my experience based on the logs I've seen.

Ok, an update....so far I tried:

No setup change, clear logs and fire up PCH (ok) switch off then fire up istar (nok) loge file:Both PC 1755 1758 the numbers refer to the approx times live tv was fired up on the respective nmts

Remove mac section for the pch, set clients to 1, fire up istar, log file:istar 1824 ...again number is time of live tv.

remove all NMT entries, set clients to 0, run nmt installer with all bottom subgroup ticked..roughly firewall, scripts, nmtsetup......add istar log file:istar 1837

So no resolution here....so I moved the istar to the pch location and plugged it all in....works after setting auto ip (due to switch) otherwise it wouldnt see the network.

Move istar back to original location with auto ip. doesnt work.

Move PCH to istar location, doesn't work.

At this point the problem is following both the network connection and the monitor, (neither are easy to move). I don't believe its the monitor not having the correct input because the miniguide pops up if I press the right button on the remote, just a black screen with the mini guide over the top.
I also tried echanging the hdmi lead...no change.

So...I'm down to the network connection, unless you can see otherwise my next course of action is to remove the switch behing the istar?????????

SOLVED: I don't pretend to understand one bit, but chnanging the istar NMT setup to output 1080p 50hz (ilo720p) has fixed the issue. I really dont get that because the monitor supports both, and even in 720 the mini guide was still popping up...just no video.
So to somerise, the PCH is running 720p mvpmcx2 menus and 720p NMT output, but the istar needs 720p menus with 1080 NMT ouput......my brains are noodles.....but at least I fixed it before wife gets back from the week away

The resolution of the menus has nothing to do with 720p/1080i etc which is monitor signal output. You can set up 1920x1080 to show on PAL monitor with mvpmcx2. If you want 720p I'd need to see telnet output to see if it is possible.
