Much thanks to mvallevand and everyone else who has contributed to getting GBPVR to work on the NMT. You too sub! I got my eGreat M34A on Monday, and today I finished the final tweaks to have it automatically boot into GBPVR. Awesome stuff!
I second that thanks! the eGreat's work flawlessly!
I've got 3 running now, and a fourth in my future. Wife Acceptance Factor is high. I'm switching from Replay TV units that have served me faithfully for a number of years, and GBPVR & the NMT's 'make sense' to her
Craig, it's nice to see positive comments from a ex-ReplayTV user. The Reply client/server interaction ismuch richer than the protocol sub and I use, and I'm quite happy that the experience is still good. Even though I couldn't use the units here in Canada (I really wanted one in the comskip days) I was able to play with DVArchive. I even offered to help port a ReplayTV client to the NMT's but there was no interest on the avsforum.
If I was still on the Replay's.. an NMT client would have been AWESOME! !!!
I had 2 5000's, one finally died, thus sending me on a journey to a replacement.
My only complaint w/ GBPVR is it's interface is awfully click-y by comparison. However, as I said, my wife 'gets' it, making it a pretty smooth transition for her. (and by extension.....me )
While the protocol may be simpler, the implementation you've devised is far more flexible and she really loves the addin's like Weather2 and Cinema.
Unfortunately, it seems I'm going to have to re-think my lossless WMA audio collection, but... that doesn't concern me too much.
If ffmpeg can decode your WMA files then they should play on the NMT via mvpmcx2. If it's not working by default, get 0.51 ffmpeg and replace the older version that sub distributes with 1.4.7
