Windows Vista Hang if "No Name" Filter deleted using Filmerit

This is a repeatable crash, that only system restore can recover, but why would deleting a no name, "no obvious path to a file" filter cause such a horrible crash?

Sub, another post in the NPVR forum reminded me of this post - could this be the same issue? How can I help troubleshoot it?

"Based on past experience with GB-PVR, typically when you get the type of error shown in that crash message, its caused by a badly named filter on your machine. I've made a small change in the attached patch which will hopefully stop it causing an error".

Could be - I'm not sure. Its not something I've investigated, so I'm not that familiar with the issue.
