I have a few channels where it is available on multiple sources - DVB-T, DVB-S and analogue from a STB.
I have made sure the names are identical, the EPG source is the same and the "channel" number is the same.
However, they appear on the EPG as separate channels. They also appear on searchlite as different channels (which is where I first spotted it)

Is this expected or is there a way of merging them. BBC3 in the screenshot is an example (as is 'dave').

It only treats them as a same channel by default if the channel setup was copied from another capture source, but it only does that when its the same type of device, for example two DVB-T devices. This means mixed source types (like DVB-S and DVB-T) will usually end up as duplicate channels. You can highlight them and click merge though in the Channels screen.

Excellent - merge worked a treat. Now, what other secret treats are hidden away Wink

Thanks

A followup question if I may, plus tiny buglet report.

With merged channels, I guess this is shown by the ... as the sourece rather than dvb-t/s/analogue etc?? Is there any way to show what may be the underlying sources of a merged channel or to "de-merge" them??

The minor buglet is if you highlight a channel in the channels screen, you can get to see the details either by pressing the details button, double-clicking the entry, but NOT by right clicking and using 'details' under the righclick menu.

cheers

You have to view each of the capture sources to see the channel sources. Sorry, there is no de-merge functionality - you can delete the channel and scan for it again though.

OK thanks the prompt reply, I guess it wouldn't be used much anyway once things are setup correctly. It was butterfingers me, who had merged a pair of channels that have the same name but different transmission hours on different platforms.
