Hi-

When scanning for channels upon initial setup, NPVR is not finding any channels. I'm using a Hauppage WinTV-HVR-950 USB stick with an analog cable input. Under the 'Devices' tab it lists the WinTV device (actually it lists it as WinTV-HVR-980) and the type listed is ATSC. That indicates a digital signal, doesn't it? I assume that's the reason I'm not finding any channels. I'm able to use the WinTV7 utility with no problems. I can't find an option to change the type of signal, or adjust the setup of the input device. Any ideas?

Thanks-

Post no. 1, the Howto - Tips and Tricks explains how to set up an analog device. You must at least install the correct mux.

the 950 doesn't have a hardware encoder, so it will need the two encoders along with the mux.

McCorduroy, see the help post linked in my signature

actually, on more careful reading I see you already have WinTV7 installed? NPVR ought to see your analog device then.

open NextPVR.exe, go into Settings, view the devices screen, then exit and post your logs.

Yes, I thought it should be covered since I have WinTV7. I failed to mention I do have an analog device listed (WinTV HVR-980 Capture). No channels are listed under it and it only has capability to add channels manually, rather than searching. I haven't had any luck adding a channel manually.

Logs are attached.

oh, analog works different, you don't scan. you just load your epg, then tell it which analog channel # matches up with the EPG channels. I've actually never used analog with either NPVR or GB-PVR, but that's how I understand it to work.
anyone familar with analog in NPVR want to give our new friend some help?

Absolutly correct, you can import the channels from an xmltv file or add them manually, but you have to tell npvr what type of input (cable, antenna, composite etc.) and what channel number it is to tune to.

OK, I was able to load my channels by importing the EPG using mc2xml. Thanks so much!
