Hi,

I have previously used GB-PVR with a Hauppauge 150 capture card. I am now trying to use NPVR with a Hauppauge HD PVR 1212.

I'm having some problems with the setup. My main problem is that when I try to test my connection to the HD PVR by selecting Live TV in NPVR a quick message saying "please wait" pops up and then disappears right away, then nothing.

I a noob so would appreciate detailed info on what my settings should be.

Also would like to use mx2xml for channel info, setup info for that would be great.

Lastly, how do I set up Comskip?

Thanks in advance for help. Details on my setup are in my signature. If you need a log file for troubleshooting, where can I find it?

Some of my issues may be related to the length of the USB cable that is connecting my HD PVR to my computer. My HD PVR is in my living room next to my TV and my computer is in the office in the adjacent room and the USB connects via cable runs and wall plates. Total run is maybe 18 feet.

I know the hdpvr manual specifically reccomends against using any other USB cable apart from the one they supply. Thought that may have been just to cover themselves, but maybe not.

18 feet is over 5 meters, and I thought 5m was about the USB limit without a powered repeater?

USB was definitely my #1 problem with my HDPVR, solved by moving ports, but from the sound of your post the fact that you are asking for mx2xml help to indicates you haven't set up an EPG which will be required. You should post your logs to avoid guessing.

Also I'd go one step and a time with you problem and wait until your system is working and you can actually capture properly before worrying about comskip.
