Is there anyone that surf the web on the TV with a wireless keyboard?
If so I have something that might be interesting for you. I have been (trying to) learn PHP and MySQL for the last year, by working on this project.
I have made a website, Hello World (for use on a TV) that is a personal portal with a lot of links to webcontent, like newspapers, radio, tv and video … for the most countries in the world.
I’m also working on some other functions that I use. (see picture icons)
I might include current GBPVR translations, for online editing and generation of language files.
The site could also work as a source for logos and links to a plugin.
The site is in an beta-alpha stage on my home server, but it is fully working and I use it everyday. It would be nice to get some feedback on the usability of the site.

Visit Hello World: http://startop.homeftp.net/mcs Test login: demo/demo
Best Regards

Nice work, that looks really good, but at least at the current time I don't do any web browsing on the TV.

If I did want to use this would I access the site through your system or would I install it on my system? I presume you're using WIMP? WAMP?

Yes, almost WAMP. I'm running Abyss Webserver with Portable MySQL on a Windows7 PC.

But the performance isn't that good, so I will build a PC with Linux and PHP cache. I have been thinking of using the Zentyal build for the home server, http://www.zentyal.org

Zentyal looks good, I may have to investigate it further for my small business clients. But why on earth did they choose an XBox360 RROD as their logo?

Today I created 50 language translations for the Hello World site
I have decided to include the GBPVR translations into Hello World.
It will be possible to edit translation and generate language files for nPVR also when I have updated the language database.

Take a look at Hello World:
