yea, that's same for remotes in any vista/7[x32/64]...but at least with x32 you could use alt driver..x64 no way...
Autoit would be a good option to build a simple launch app..and i would set it up as another app to control in irss with it's own keys when it's active..
and maybe just kick it off with power key and put npvr in list of apps to start..
