Panorama / wide zoom mode in mvpmcx2

Raising an old issue again:

Is it possible to add a panorama / wide zoom mode to mvpmcx2? (panorama mode = http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Widescreen_..._Zoom_mode)

I thought about it and researched, but there wasn't any other requests the last time. A majority of users would have to prefer this to normal stretch before I'd consider it.
