Universe+PlayOn MVP position

Hey Martin, I just installed Universe and am using it on my MVP to hit my PlayOn server. It connects and the videos play just fine. However, the displayed video is centered left to right, but floating off the top of the screen by a few inches. The MVP display in NPVR is centered perfectly on my TV, it's only the universe videos that are off. Any ideas?

Are you set up for NTSC and 4x3 aspect? If yes maybe you need to configure more buffering or maybe try PlayOns lighter transcoding.

I am set for NTSC and 4x3 aspect ratio. I can't seem to find where to set PlayOns transcoding settings. Also, I've discovered that some of PlayOns channels appear just fine. So it appears to have something to do with the original source aspect ratio, or some other property (resolution perhaps?). I haven't played with it enough yet to tell which source ratio works correctly and which doesn't. CBS in particular seems to be problematic, but the problem channels appear just fine on my blu-ray player.

These "problem" channels look and sound perfect on the MVP, its just that I appear to be missing the top 2" or so of the picture, and there is about a 3 to 4" black bar at the bottom of the screen. So basically it looks as though the entire picture is simply shifted upwards. I'm attaching the log just in case it holds any clues.

Sorry Kevina, I totally missed your post last month. I have no idea how to control the transcoding but I suspect the problem is in mvpmc http streaming code video file detection which I wrote in mvpmc (and forgot) years ago. I have no intention of changing mvpmc at this point. I am pleased to see in the log that it actually worked as well as it did for you. You might be able to get some help from PlayOn on controlling the transcoding.
