audio/video not playing for ATSC channel

I scanned my ATSC channels (free OTA channels) and it found some. I then told config to update the EPG, and then tried watching a show. I select a channel, but there is never audio or video. What am I doing wrong?

Have you selected decoders for audio and video on the Settings->Decoders page? If there are none to select you need to install a codec package, like CCCP, K-Lite, SD Pack etc.

Looking at the sig, the Shark007 codec pack should be sufficient but you might have to turn mpeg2 processing on in ffdshow. I prefer libavformat, but ymmv.

If that isn't it can you play recordings? If you can, I'd go to config and disable AAC and HE-AAC decoders and also tell NPVR to only used mapped decoders

I noticed that he has the Shark007 codec package, but I'm not familiar with that one and don't know if it will even work with npvr. In any case I would not recommend ffdshow, especially not for rednecks . Experience show that ffdshow will work on some installations, on some not. That may be related to the graphic card/drivers, I don't know.
