It would be very helpful if the channel scan screen could display the virtual channel # when available in the stream. It's always available for OTA ATSC, and I believe is often available for QAM channels.
I just found a new channel in a channel scan, but I can't figure out what it is - it doesn't show up on my regular TV grouped with the other channels on that frequency, so clearly it uses a different virtual channel number. Schedules Direct only identifies channels by virtual channel number, so I have no way to know what line of EPG data this new channel goes with. In fact even for channels where I do know what they are, it's sometimes hard to remember which channel call sign identified by NPVR goes with which Schedules Direct channel.
I'm sure it'll turn out that this particular channel is another garbage channel I don't want, but finding it highlighted a minor shortcoming in the current channel scanning process.
