I have some Blu-ray files that have 5.1 PCM audio as well as some 5.1-channel FLAC audio files. I am using the LAV audio decoders and the problem is they are getting down-mixed to 2-channel PCM over HDMI. Bistreaming of DTS-HD, etc. is working fine but it is my understanding that for multichannel PCM over HDMI WASAPI output is needed. Is there any chance this could be an option? Thanks.

For the most part, NextPVR doesnt play any active role in blu-ray playback. It just askes LAV and directshow to take care of it.

I dont really know what would be required for a directshow application to make use of WASAPI. I had a quick google on the subject but couldnt see much in the way of definitive answers. I did see some comments saying you could install ReClock, and select it as the audio renderer, and it'll take care of WASAPI output if installed. If that works, then it should work in NextPVR.

Yep, ReClock will do what you need.

You can't use it with .ts file playback though (eg Live TV) if you have more than one audio decoder active, because it can only work with one at a time. My ReClockOrNot plugin allows you to turn ReClock off for this, but still keep it for everything else. In my case, the only reason I'd want it for Live TV anyway is to sort out the 5.1/2.0 issue, and I get around that by using ac3filter which either bitstreams 5.1 content, or encodes stereo to dolby digital (and then bitstreams it), meaning my amp never has to deal with PCM.

Thanks, I'll look into ReClock more. As I understand it, though, the main purpose of ReClock is to sync up analog audio output with video so it seems kind of strange to use it for digital audio output.

No, not at all. Its main purpose is to resync *any* audio to match the video frame rate.
