Hi ScottChapman, this is an HDHomeRun Prime with cablecard, right? First of all, NextPVR.exe and NRecord.exe must be allowed through the firewall. It's a good idea to check your network settings to see whether your network location is Private or Public before creating firewall exceptions. Once firewall rules have been created, you should try a short recording. If the recording has a file size of zero bytes, then no signal is getting through to NextPVR. This is usually due to firewall, but can also be caused by having more than one network adapter enabled: http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...post458499
If you get a recording with file size larger than zero bytes but you can't watch it (or live TV), then decoders are almost certainly the problem. For U.S. digital channels, decoders must be enabled for MPEG2 Video and AC3 Audio. What version of Windows are you running? Windows 7 has a perfectly good Microsoft DTV-DVD Video Decoder for MPEG2, but you would probably need to download a decoder for AC3 Audio such as AC3Filter (http://www.ac3filter.net/), which is what I'm using. To set decoders, right-click and select Settings, then the Decoders page.
