MCE (Win Media Center) remote contorol customization

I am in the process of setting up an MCE compatible remote to manage both nPVR and my Win 7-64 HTPC. The remote I bought for a cheap $20 from eBay, included a usb ir receiver and is shown in the following pic. The button reference chart is included within a file attachment.

I wish to customize this remote and will take one issue at a time. I have gathered that the Win registry needs to be hacked to change some of the default commands sent by the remote and pc actions taken. I have downloaded an attachment from another thread which I will play with next...

First one... Within nPVR and pressing Live TV button.. nPVR goes to Live TV, but Win Media Center also loads and comes out on top of desktop. I need to disable any call to load Media Center without disabling nPVR built in registry commands.

I found this but.....

[Win7 users need to uncheck Media Center in “Windows Programs and Features”]

I selected to turn off Media features, which included Media Center...

Well of course Winblows needs a restart!
