FCC to allow U.S. basic cable to be encrypted

Comcast just encrypted all my channels. Now I get 2 unencrypted, a public service channel for the city, and a sales channel for Comcast promoting a DTA cause you can't get any unencrypted channels anymore...
Puts a crimp in my recording, basically single threaded now thru my STB.

Who knows ,if the "âConsumer Video Device Cost Savings Act" gets adopted http://arstechnica.com/tech-policy/2013/...ting-bill/, CableCard could even be the next clear QAM. I expect the cableco's really don't want that $1.50 a month and if they can convince politicians that getting rid of CableCard will save money, it's just a matter of time.
