Recently I've started having problems with with short recordings. Not always, just intermittently, there doesn't seem to be a pattern other than all of them are short. Not getting zero file size, all are at least a few min long in the 2-10min long range. I've looked at the longs and it looks to me like NPVR thinks it recorded correctly, but then I really don't know what I'm looking at. Attached are my logs and the most recent recording that came up short.

Should have mentioned, I'm running 2.59 with all the patches.

The most common cause is a drop in the signal coming into the tuner. If the signal loss lasts for more than a moment or several then the recording service doesn't restart writing to the recording file when the signal picks up.

I've seen signal problems before, but in those cases the recording shows some tiling before the recording completely stops. These recordings that just stop, no tiling, no nothing, it just ends.

Ok, had another short recording today. It seems like every time this happens I have two HD recordings going on the HDHomeRun with one starting a while after the first one starts. On the off chance it is a signal or tuner problem I deactivated the second HDHomeRun tuner figuring I'd find out if it was the second HDHR tuner. It threw a error yesterday, but I didn't catch it. I figured the another HD tuner I have would pick up the recording. Today I had the same problem, a short recording which I've attached with the logs in the zip file. The logs are from before I opened NPVR so they should only have the recording activity.

I also checked out the HDHR tuners with the configuration program which lets you see the signal strength, signal quality and symbol quality. Both tuners show 100% on the signal quality and symbol quality and 96% on the signal strength so I'm thinking it's not the HDHR at this point. Just to verify I deactivated the other HDHR tuner to completely in the devices settings to take the HDHR out of the equation. When I clicked "OK" button in device settings it threw an exception again. I cought it this time and it's in the text file in the zip. I also got the newest NPVR.log which is also in the zip. I noticed NPVR throws this same exception every time I click the "OK" button in the devices settings page even if I don't select anything else. I'll wait and see what happens tomorrow with the recordings on the 2nd & 3rd tuners and completly bypassing the HDHR. In the mean time, Sub do you have any ideas of what's going on?

So I know where I'm looking in the logs, what was the of the recording and what time was it supposed to start and finish?

It's the TS file in the zip, "General Hospital_20121017_14001500.ts" It started at 2pm and should have ended at 3pm.

In the logs it looks like the app recorded the full duration and nothing interrupted it. I'm pretty sure the device must have stopped delivering data.

It's possible, I've completely disabled the HDHR and will see if I still get short recordings with the other tuners. Any idea why I'm getting the exceptions when hitting "OK" on the devices page in setup? The log is included in the last szip.

The only error I could see in your logs was related to the VolumeOSDPlugin. It looks like it cant find some skin files it's looking for.
