I really do feel we should make more of an effort round here for special events? But then it may be Brian is a bit like me and does not want to celebrate another year older Wink

Anyway, too late now I am posting it!

cheers Brian for all of your help and advice round here over the years.

Thanks guys.

It has been a bit of a whirlwind year with one thing or another. As for not wanting to celebrate being another year older, I'm happy with this one as it's the last of my forties. Next year will be the big "Five-Oh"

I've been a bit slack on the forums recently but hoping to be in the new house by the end of November (with a dedicated geek room for my computers). Looking forward to coming back into the fold.

Cheers,
Brian

Good luck with the move. How big is the geek room? Will we get pictures Wink

I have had builders in my house on and off, but mainly on since May 2011! Not much fun but I have had a small yet hopefully functional geek room built for me! Not finished yet, a work in progress but if you show me pictures of yours I'll show you pictures of mine  Wink

cheers

Cheers.
Thanks, I had a good day and a relaxed evening at a restaurant with my wife. All very sedate as we're not as young as we used to be (stating the obvious).

Thanks, got the local removals company director coming tomorrow to give us a quote.

The geek room is fairly small but has a cupboard built into the side big enough for my main npvr rig (a 19" rack-mount unit) plus a couple of other computers. I'm also a musician and have a bunch of rack-mount gear which will go in there (three rack-mount synths, a guitar pre-amp, multi-effects unit and 20 channel mixing desk)....add to that my 3 guitars, keyboard synth, 3 penny whistles, pan pipes, bodhran, African goblet drum....it'll be fairly snug. Big Grin

Cheers,
Brian

Are you sure that's just a cupboard and not actually the room next door?

Weird 1950s house - every time I open one of the built-in cupboards I think "Wow, that's bigger than I thought it was". I'm slightly worried if I walk to the back I might find myself in Narnia. Wink
