By the way, for posterity, my tuning column looks like this. I can't copy and paste anymore. Time for bed.

Code:
<tuning>
  <type>HDPVR</type>
  <locator>
    <channel>100</channel>
    <input>0</input>
    <blaster_executable>C:\Program Files (x86)\NPVR\HaupBlast.exe</blaster_executable>
    <blaster_args>{channel}</blaster_args>
    <audio_input>SPDIF Optical Input</audio_input>
  </locator>
</tuning>

I had a similar problem recently where analogue recordings from my cable box made using an old capture card now played back at around 1.5-2 X normal speed on my server and both clients. Because the card was very old all recordings defaulted to 4:3 and 60HZ so I used DVD Patcher to correct the problems on these recordings so all played normally in NextPVR until recently.

The recordings play normally in VLC so it was a NextPVR problem. Then one client started playing these recordings normally again after I had been playing with the Decoders. The problem was caused by the Microsoft "MPEG Audio Decoder" which I thought I had always selected and not previously had a problem with. Selecting the FFDSHOW or LAV audio decoder cured the problem.

For the sake of posterity, this problem magically resolved itself. I ordered a second Colossus card thinking I must have a hardware problem. Put the second card in the box and when I went to test it out I mistakenly had them in the wrong order and it started recording off my first card. My video's started coming out in VBR mode again. Doubled checked it by disabling the other STB to be sure I was going through that card. Now, that 's not to say my results have been flawless. It recorded a video at like 2:30 today and video-re-do had to remove about 20,000 audio frames and made the video unwatchable. Then 30 minutes later on the same card it recorded an almost flawless video on the same channel. So I don't get it. Needs more analysis.
