NextPVR on Apple TV2

Hi, I have XBMC 12.1 on apple tv2 everything set up and channels have pulled though except I am experiencing one problem:-

On the apple tv when I select a channel to watch it hangs for a while before saying the tuner is no longer available. I have searched around a abit and tried disabling timeshifting in the configuration. However, if I select timeshifting the Appletv crashes and reboots when I select a channel, if I select timeshifting I get the tuner no longer available error.

Any ideas?

Welcome. We usually recommend confirming a good result with NextPVR before attempting to use XBMC and we recommend getting recording to work before Live TV.

Can you record a show NextPVR? Can you watch the recording with NextPVR? If watching the recording fails, can you watch the recording by playing the file in Windows Media Player? If you can successfully watch the recording in NextPVR, can you watch the same recording in XBMC?

If you have any problems, please zip (using Windows Explorer) and attach NextPVR logs with a post describing symptoms and the time of the problem (the time helps when searching logs).

Hi, I can record TV shows on the PC where NextPVR is installed on, I can also watch the recording. The recording does appear in NextPVR on XBMC but when I click to watch it I get the same error message TV tuner not available. I have attached zipped log files as of 13.09pm 6/4/2013.

Edit: I don't think the issue is with the appletv2 now as I installed XBMC on a different PC, enabled NextPVR and I get the same problem with tuner not available.

The tuner i'm using is a Hauppauge Nova-T USB2

Your rar does not include the current nrecord.log. We find that some utilities do not process open files. Zips created with Explorer don't appear to have this problem.

One thing I did notice was after a recording has finished on NextPVR main PC, if i clicked live tv to watch something else, it would become unresponsive & eventually say the tuner you are using is required, would you like to switch to watching a recording, or exit back to the main menu. If I clicked on the listings option and then a ifferent channel I could watch it.

Sorry. I can't see a problem in the logs. Can you recreate the problem and post to say the exact time that the error occurred so we know exactly where to look in the logs. Thanks.

tried selecting a channel to watch 15.21, became unresponsive and I closed with a crash message. Same error message as before..

The NextPVR process that connects to the tuner is ndigitalhost and it is started as required by the NextPVR recording service. Your ndigitalhost-20.log has

2013-04-06 13:45:16.759 [DEBUG][22] locked=1, present=1, strength=-19000, quality=100 (took 828ms to check)

The quality=100 means that at 13.45 it was all good. But the same log has

2013-04-06 15:21:01.285 [DEBUG][32] locked=0, present=1, strength=-2500, quality=0 (took 813ms to check)

The quality=0 means that at 15.21 it was all bad.

Why it went from good to bad is a mystery to me. Does the problem still occur if your remove all splitters and extension cables from the aerial coax? Plus you said earlier that you have a Nova-t USB2 ... the logs all refer to a Nova-T Stick. It might say "Stick" because of the way that Hauppauge have named the driver ... but it may be that your drivers have become tangled. An uninstall and re-install might shed some light.
