Another point to note is that I don't get a Resume option after stopping a current recording. Is that normal behaviour?

that's not normal for the rest of us, but I'd call that normal for your abnormal situation.

no, not really. something seems screwed up on your system which prevents NextPVR from being able to tell that a recording file is still in use, so it treats in-progress recordings as completed. I really don't know what could possibly cause this, but no one else is having this problem.
in a post further up I went babbling on about XP, yet clearly you are running Windows 7 x64. I must have been thinking of someone else's logs when I posted that.
