Hi there,

So it is now really clear that this batch file is not being called, or is failing to execute correctly. This morning I got up and again had nothing in the epg for later in the day. My xml file was last udated a week ago when I last did it manually. I have now run UpdateEPG manually and it all worked okay.

Interestingly I have the update set for 4:am, this morning I was checking some recordings and all of the recordings due to be made at this time in the morning were listed as failed in the recordings plugin. This suggests that something is happening, but it certainly is not the epg updating! If I set a windows timer to run the EpgCollector collection then everything seems to be fine, so it is something to do with attempting to run this in the UpdateEPG file.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi there,

Tried to do this and it says invalid file for the .log. Kinda expected that with the batch file but the content of the file is

c:
cd\Program Files (x86)\Geekzone\EPG Collector
EPGCOLLECTOR /ini="c:\TVData\Sky.ini"

As I said this works fine if I run manually. Out of interest I don't think my PostUpdateEPG does anything either as I have the XMLExtras on and yet this does not seem to do anything, and my nDroid update only works if I do this manually.

If you tell me exactly what log I could try cutting and pasting it here. I was sort of asuming you meant NPVR.log.

Try:
Code:
c:
cd "\Program Files (x86)\Geekzone\EPG Collector"
EPGCOLLECTOR /ini="c:\TVData\Sky.ini"

to post your logs, you should .zip them using the windows built-in Compressed Folders feature then when posting hit the "Go Advanced" button and click the paper-clip icon in the toolbar

Okay, tried the batch file change still nothing.

Logs are attached. At this point I have no epgdata past saturday (have't manually run this since last saturday) so the updateepg has not happened for 4 days.

The nrecord.log contains ...
Quote:2013-04-24 04:01:32.605 [DEBUG][8] No C:\Users\Public\NPVR\Scripts\UpdateEPG.bat file found
2013-04-24 04:01:32.605 [DEBUG][8] Checking for any XMLTV listings
2013-04-24 04:01:32.632 [DEBUG][8] Will process xmltv file: C:\TVData\TVGuide.xml
2013-04-24 04:01:32.641 [DEBUG][8] Loading XMLTV from: C:\TVData\TVGuide.xml

The "No C:\Users\Public\NPVR\Scripts\UpdateEPG.bat file found" suggests that you have a file name typo or folder glitch going on.

That's it then, I didn't realise this had to be in /Scripts so it is straight in NPVR!

Can fix it now.. :-)

Perfect, it updated the EPG perfectly this evening, though I see no benefit from the XML extras so not sure if that actually did anything. Long and short is that it is now working :-)

Assuming you are using EPG Collector to read the broadcast EPG data then the advantage is that you now populate the Unique_id field in the EPG_EVENT table. This means you can use "Avoid duplicate recordings" using the data used by Freeview/Freesat PVRs which I find extremely useful. However Sub has been making improvements to Freeview/Freesat compatibility recently but don't know if populating Unique_id is one of the improvements.
